I have never not done the pre op bloodwork, its never cost as much as the price you were given. There are so many what ifs that could be seen in the bloodwork and not seen on the outside.
My breeder friend placed one of her retired bitches and a few years after the new owners took her to the vet for a dental cleaning and didnt do the bloodwork, dog never woke up.
Just recently another friend (it wasnt a yorkie) did the preop bloodwork everything came back fine, as the dog was coming out of the anesthesia he went into cardiac arrest and died. |
