That is a good article. When they're little you can use fingernail clippers or cat/bird nail scissors. They usually act like you're killing them. Get a small container of Stop Quick or any type of styptic powder to stop bleeding if you cut it too close. When they're little the vein is close to the end of the nail. If you trim just the hooks on the end or just a little bit every week the vein will eventually work back up in the nail. Try to get her used to laying on her back while you touch her toes. Do it in the evening when she's getting tired. Then just hold the cutters or nail scissors in your hand and touch her toes with them. She should get used to having her feet touched and not pull away. My 3 all lay on their backs to have their nails trimmed. No pulling, no messing around. Maggie was 2 when she came to us and she learned really fast. I also use that time to trim up belly and bottom hairs & trim the hair around their toes. Good Luck, you can do it.
