By the way, it sounds like you already know some things of what you want in a yorkie. Mine are confident and loving, playful, not irritating. But each yorkie has their own temperament so it is good to ask the breeder, see for your self when you visit them and also find out what their dam and sires temperaments are since this is an important consideration, as are their size, coat, and so many other considerations.
My yorkies all have long coat and this is because I show them. Many yorkie luvvers keep the puppy coat which is easy to manage. I have one whom I don't show and I keep his coat long also. I work outside the home but they have adjusted. Of course, they get so much attention from me and my fiancee. I think they are spoiled rotten which is exactly what I want. Then when we show, they know it is serious business. Hope this helps.
