1st off your mom is very miss lead on Yorkies, They are NOT snappy or irratating at all! I think small dogs are mis judged as ankle biters.
Yorkies are very loving and affectionate. They are very loyal and great companion dogs.
You can groom there hair to however you like, it's all up to you.
I leave my Lillie alone durning the day while I'm at work, she is in a ExPen and has a bed and blanky, food, water and a pee pad.
