I signed both my cat and my puppy up for VIP pet insurance. We had one bill for our cat that was $1100 before that and that was enough for me to get insurance. Mine is only about $11.00 a month. We had to take our kitty in when she became very lethargic and wanted to just lay down, like when she was halfway to the door to go out, she'd plop down. It cost us $167 for bloodtests and I sent the bill into the insurance. They paid $99 which I was thrilled about. Even if that's not 80%, it's still significant enough that it's worthwhile. The thing is that vet bills can be very expensive, even just for little things. So I feel like getting something at all is better than paying full price.
With VIP, there is a standard plan and a premium plan. I have the standard, and you get a discount if you have more than one pet signed up. The premium plan pays some for regular check-ups and shots, while the standard doesn't. And the standard doesn't pay a heck of a lot for surgeries and serious stuff. They have a lower limit, while the premium pays out quite a bit more. I personally opted to pay less a month and go with the standard plan. |
