Sometimes our Yorkies have a little Australian Shepherd in them, and there isn't much you can do to get a nice long silky coat. Just make sure she gets good food, and omega fatty acids for a healthy skin and coat. As for the top knot, I'd suggest not having one. This was the reason I had to cut Zada and Azrael shorter and do away with the top-knot. They would drag each other all over the place and end up looking like sheep dogs.
