They did wait a couple of weeks, though
The emergency vet that we rushed her to sent a sympathy card, and they'd never seen her before that night. That touched me so much, and made me so angry and hurt at her regular vet.
I think ANY medical professional, whether it be for animals or humans, should have compassion. I know that some grow hard in the heart after a while, to protect themselves, but that may be when it's time to get out, when you can't FEEL for the patients and their families anymore. Just my 2 cents
