You might try leaving dry food down at all times so he can eat when he wants. I've always done this and I've never had any blood sugar issues with my boyz. No, they don't over eat...they eat when they're hungry and stop when they're full. I never really agreed with the 'rules' of only feeding a dog one or two times a day...we snack when we're hungry and I would pity my husband if he ever tried to only feed me 2 small meals a day! I do give a small amount of soft food to each of them for breakfast and dinner but the rest of the time they get dry food. I also think a dog can have hypoglycemia at any age. I'm glad he's feeling better now that he's had something to eat...that tells me it was most likely his blood sugar and he needs to eat more throughout the day.
