You don't have to crop a Yorkie's ears to get them to stand. They are supposed to stand on their own. My oldest is 1/2-his ears stand, and they were not cropped (cut). My youngest is 12 weeks, and hers now stands-again, not cropped. If they are going to stand, they will early on. Not ALL Yorkie ears stand, but I belive the majority of them do.
