Well, Mia started to show red on 1/1 and unlike last heat 8 months ago when we didn't want them to breed, Max is totally uninterested still today, and she's not interested either. I know from breeding other dogs/cats in the past that when they're ready, they're interested, but we're at day 10 and neither one seems to care. Any input???

FYI, yes, they've both been vet checked physically and for health/genetics. My sister bred/showed poodles for years when I was growing up & I worked with her and I've bred/showed Persians until my DS turned up deathly allergic, so I'm not a total newbie to this.

Both of them are much more aware of other dogs being near our house & when DD came home after playing with a friends male chi, they wanted to tear DD apart.

I'm just wondering what's up. She's now 2+ and he's over 18 months.

Thanks for any input. I'm guessing we're just in a waiting game.....
