How interesting it is to hear everyone's opinion on this particular breed. I have had a poodle, schnauzer, cairn terrier and other mixed breeds throughout my life. I like animals sometimes better than I do people. They love you unconditionally!! We saw an ad in the paper for a yorkie puppy for $500.00 and it was the last of the litter. I knew NOTHING about yorkies other than my best friend was a breeder, but her puppies were $1200.00 and I was not prepared to pay that much. We bought that $500.00 puppy. Her daddy was 6 pounds and her momma was 9. Common sense told us that Reesie could either take after her daddy and be little or she could take after her mamma and be bigger. We could have cared less. I was so uneducated about yorkies I thought you had to have their ears cropped and that was why Reesie's ears were floppy. (Remember I had a Schnauzer and their ears are floppy until you crop them.) I know some of you are saying right now WHAT AN IDIOT!!! That's OK Reesie ended up not only like her mamma, but she has almost 2 more pounds on her. When I called my friend (the yorkie breeder) to tell her about Reesie the first question after I told her what I paid was how big are the parents and are their ears erect. When I told her she said Reesie came from bad breeding and that's why she was so cheap. I have since forgiven her for that statement and she still calls Reesie a brute and now believe it or not I have one of her puppies.(I got the family discount).Abbie will probably be around 5 pounds and her ears are erect and she's just perfect. Just like by 10 pound 9 ounce floppy eared cotton coated baby girl. I love them both unconditionally.
