Could Gracie have gotten into any lotion or conditioner in the bathroom? How about Vaseline?
Sherman recently had his ears cleaned by the vet when his baby teeth were removed and I had to put Otomax ointment in his ears as a precaution. My groomer told me to add a drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid to the regular dog shampoo to get rid of the greasiness, but since Gracie has a cotton coat you might not want to do that.
