So I was told by the receptionist AND the Dr. that they have to be sedated I asked why today and she said because its very painful and its a big needle this is a Animal Hospital and they have been in business for along time but have anyone else heard this about microchippng??
I personally dont think sedation is necessary! I think the risks of the sedation far outweigh any "large" needle. I did Nico's microchip myself. There was no blood, no mess. He whimpered a little...BUT SO DID I WHEN I GOT MY FLU SHOT! I put him down and he was FINE! I understand that some want their babies sedated to have the procedure but to tell you that they HAVE TO BE, imo, is just wrong. Best wishes!!
