This exact same thing happened to my Shih-tzu. They took a plug of skin under his front left leg (almost at the joint), and nobody bothered to call me. They took him right to Banfield and fixed him up with some sort of liquid bandage. TALK ABOUT BEING PISSED.
It was sorta added as an after thought when I picked him up. So even though I think the entire tail may be a bit of an exaggeration......they may have cut a good chunk outta the poor thing.
