So I took her to the dr last week. He said she has allergies but it sounded close to astma (SP). But said he wouldnt know for sure without a battery of test and he didnt want to do that yet as it is expensive. So her put he on Elbuterol 3 times a day and said if she did good on it I could cut it down to twice a day. She has done better but once in a while she will have a scary spell that just scares me really bad. hubbys sister passed away Fri morning and we had the funeral yesterday and we werent here to give her the 3 pm medicine. When we got home, one of them had thrown up in the floor and bout time we got in the house good, she had a pretty bad spell. Its like she just cant get her breath and a few times, like last night i picked her up and ran her outside for fresh air and she was fine actually by time i got her up to the door. But it scares me when she does it bad, but ive noticed I think when it starts it scares her and makes it worse because when i see her start i can walk over and put my hand on her and talk to her and soon as she feels my hand and I say something she seems to be fine. wondering if at first it scares her and when she knows i'm with her she feels more safe and secure and gets right over it. I dont know but It does scare me when she has a bad spell. Keep her in your thoughts and along with me pray for her to be ok. thanks for listening. I cried all way home from the vet that day, maybe i'm stupid but I dont want anything to happen to her. I never knew I could love a dog like this till now and I've never been dog person. learn something new everyday .
Im sorry she is doing this. And it prob does scare her when she is not able to catch her breath, Touching her when she does this prob settles her down so she is able to breath also when you see her throat spasm you can try to close off their nostrils so it has to breathe through its mouth for a few seconds ( no longer) and it swollows it seems to help a lot. Good luck , I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
