Hello all,
First of all im a proud new owner of Hustler, my yorkie pup. He's 21wks old now and has been at home for a week. The first few days he was perfect.. very curious, yet calm, attentive, and playful. It appears that now that he's much more used to the house and all family members he seems to listen to everyone else but me, as I am his "primary" owner! The problem in particular is biting. Maybe I just can't handle the 'pain' of the pressure of the bite, but it seems that no one else gets bitten as (what I think) severely as I. I believe that most of the time it's just teething so soon after I can get my hand away from Hustler's mouth, I replace it with one of his toys/bones and he's fine. Unfortunately other times it seems that he's really after my hand-- sometimes he literally lunges to my hand! I've tried the basic 'no' command, tried to divert his attention to something else to bite on, and even yelped like how I would imangine another dog would after receiving a bite, but it only works for.. a couple of seconds at best! I love my puppy so much, but I'm beggining to become a little fearful of him while everyone else gets to enjoy his company
I'm a newbie at this whole dog owner thing, so I'm somewhat afraid that I've either been too harsh with him, not strigent enough, or not enough attention
Please, please, please help. I don't want this to get out of control.
Thanks.
