I'm in Pennsylvania or I would be there for you (without pay of course)!!!! I highly suggest you get on Ebay today and buy the book "Breeding a Litter" by Beth J. Finder Harris. It does have a lot of good info. I checked Ebay yesterday because I suggested this book for someone else. There were 2 listed at the time. Did your puppy get stuck in the birth canal or half way out? If it happens half way out (happened to me last time...what a scarey nightmare...breech DRY birth stuck half way out!!!!!). Anyway, if that is the case you NEVER try and pull the puppy out! Wait for contractions and help GENTLY pull at that time. My puppy was totally lifeless...no hint of life whatsoever. You definetly need to learn the "shake down" method. It is absolutely necessary to know. It took me like 10 minutes to get my puppy to breath, but he ended up perfectly healthy. there are things you need to learn NEVER to do even if it seem like it makes sense. There are numerous things you try before mouth to muzzle...which is a last resort. Did you know not to breath air into your pup that you have exhaled? Only "puffs" from air in your cheeks. Sure wish I could be there for you! My mom has 3 females and calls me no matter what time it is when they go into labor and I head right over. good luck. read as much as you can and try to find someone to be there with you. Know that you need to get this settled way before your pups are due. No vet will give you advice over the phone (makes them responsible for whatever happens). They will only say "Bring her in". There should be no such thing as a vet that doesn't know about puppies being born. If you don't have any luck finding someone, try to find a vet that might take her in once her temp. tells you that puppies are coming within 24 hours. Please let us know how this goes for you. I hope and pray for only happy results!!
