I read that somewhere else on the forum but have never seen the Maltese mentioned in the Yorkshire Terrier history. I have several books here and the AKC site itself only mentions: the Waterside Terrier which was a cross of the Black and Tan English Terrier (aka Manchester terrier) and the Paisley and Cldesdale Terriers. It was once called a broken-haired Scotch Terrier.
The Maltese is actually a
spaniel and originated in Malta. Do you know where the idea that there is Maltese in the Yorkshire Terrier came from?
