I'm sure you'll get replies on both sides of this one but I agree with Diego...if a dog gains weight after being spayed or neutered it's because their owners allow them to get lazy or they need a diet change.
Jo was neutered at about a year old (he's now 2) and he maintained the same weight until recently...he's gained about 12 ounces in the last few months. However, we've been changing foods to try to find out what he may be alergic to so the calorie count in some were higher than others and also, it's winter and he doesn't like to go out to play in the cold so the activity level is lower right now!
Riley was neutered around 6 months I think and he hasn't changed an ounce...he's now a little over 1 1/2 years old. |
