Yes my vet told me that sarcoptic mange is VERY contagious.. and she was extremely worried because I had a baby in the house. I just feel awful!!!! We have another dog also a yorkie-poo who also was put on the meds, but she said no isolation was necessary yet because he wasnt showing any clinical signs.
My concern is about the "socialiation" also! I mean for the 4 weeks that we didnt know she had this... she was our baby, just playing with everyone, curling up with us, etc.. and now she just looks at me like "what did I do??" I just feel totally awful!
I mean she isnt scratching anymore, her scabs are gone everything! She does have flaky skin, but I dont think thats from the mange.
I did call the breeder also. He said of course "none of the other puppies have it!" The vet said he would propably deny it....
