Kudos Breeders!!! You are right not to sell when finances are an issue. For example, we own 2 yorkies and a std. poodle. The poodle was a bit down yesterday. Quiet, unlike himself. This morning when we got up he had a softball size mass over his throat.
Panic mode!!! Threw him in the car and wen to the vet within 10 mins of finding the lump.
I had no idea what the problem or how much.
Turns out his has an infection, from an absessed tooth. We are treating the infection now and will get to the tooth. I was lucky, only a $100 bill and another $100 for the tooth to be removed at a later date. I was going to the vet with our emergency Visa card that we use just in case for the dogs, I was thinking a surgery in the thousands.
Many people would have panicked, thought of how tight moeny is, they have already stretched things too far with Xmas gifts and hoped for the best. If I had done that he would be dead this evening (his temp was 104).
Pets are luxuries, we need to be prepared or get insurance...something I keep thinking I should get!! lol
