I had to express my Pekenese's anal gland all the time! She got an infection, and after that I had to do it. I read where some Yorkies need to have them expressed and some don't. I asked my vet, and she said it usually expels when they poop. If they scoot and keep it up for a couple days, then they should be expelled. I am trying not to do Snoodles because then I am afraid it will be a constant thing. She will scoot at times, but then it stops! Hope it continues!
As for pooping in segments, mine does the same thing! I think she thinks she is done, and oops! need to do some more. I notice if it is really cold out, she gets done a lot faster. Also, it isn't as often since she is a little older now. Pat |
