I live in the county on a mountain so I don't have to worry about city streets.I know that some dogs will run if given the chance. Diesel isn't like this. I see no point in getting the chip. If he was the type of dog that would run just given the chance then I MIGHT would think about it. I also don't worry about someone stealing him. He is never left alone outside because of the Hawks in the area. I don't leave him in the car alone either.

Everyone has to do what they feel is right. There is no right and wrong answer.
Oh, I understand and I certainly don't mean to argue or anything My boys aren't runners either and I'm always with them too...we have hawks, bald eagles and huge owls along with fox and cyote. But, I worry about them being scared by something and getting away from me or what if something happened while I was gone and they got out of the house...like a tornado, fire or break-in. Paranoid? Maybe...but it happens. My sister's Yorkie was taken right off of her front porch, from her daughter's hands and she really had a hard time proving he was hers so she could get him back...that's the kind of stuff I worry about. The chips are peace of mind for me and my boys just in case.
