I rescued a 12 year-old yorkie several years ago. When I took him to the vet, he told me to either spend a lot of money or put him to sleep. His skin, eyes, teeth, ears and everything else were infected. I have a picture of him from the day I brought him home, and his "at best" photo is in my avatar. I chose to spend the money and the difference was amazing. $2500.00 and a year or so later, I had the most awesome pet I will ever have. He was my first yorkie, Chester, who lived to be 17. He was lively, playful, and smart. You just never know how these little things can turn around once their medical issues are addressed. He may not have had a good beginning, but let me tell you, he had five wonderful, spoiled, happy years with me. She may very well get that in the end also. If I'd had the opportunity, I'd have taken her in a heartbeat. Chester was worth every penny and every moment I spent nursing him back to health.
