I think she said one dog won't use the steps.
The way I got my older one to use them, was put a snack on each step, and on the bed at the top of the steps. I kept doing this till he got full or started using the steps, lol.
I have hardwood floors in my bedroom, with no area rug, cause of allergies too. Adonis weighs 6 lbs, and he's never had problems hopping up there, or back down. When I got Venus back in August, I knew she needed steps to get up and down, as she was pretty small.
I'd certainly do wood floors. My carpet that I put in the living room and hall back in 2001 is nasty, and no matter how much I clean it, still doesn't look clean. I now wish I did them with wood! The wood floor in my bedroom still looks great. I put that down about the same time.
If your still worried about the wood floor, put an area rug down. But I'd sure try the treats on every step and the bed first. |
