Finally, a topic I've had experience in! These little imps are smart. Lexi is 7 months old now and she's finally getting the idea but it did take 5 months to get to this point. I made it a habit, early on, to pen her in the kitchen at her normal 'go' times. She hates to be crated during the day but is perfectly alright with it at night so long as the crate is in my bedroom. She had the paper idea right away but was only successful about 75% of the time. Now, suddenly, she get's it right 99% of the time. She'll get up out of our laps from a dead sleep and go on her pad and then come back to take her position back up. Now, why do I say 99% of the time? Because she's suddenly developed a new habit. She get's so excited whenever someone enters the house that she has little accidents. She goes, literaly, while running and hopping. I'm guessing that this too will pass. Then there are the 'spiteful' accidents. The ones that happen outside the bathroom door when she is not allow entry. I suspect this is what your little fellow does. I have to forgive her though, she's so sweet natured. I'm picking her up from the vets shortly. She was spayed yesterday but has been at the vets since Monday night. I don't remember being this anxious when my daughter was small but these were the 2 longest nights ever!!! I'm sure it will all staighten itself out with patience, love and perserverence. Much luck to you!
