My two do all of the above also. Lucy will run like crazy down the hall with Rebel right behind her barking his little head off. When I look at them and ask if they want to go out, both sets of ears perk up and they take off for the back door with Lucy turning circles. When they get there, Rebel stands on his back legs with the front ones on Lucy's back until I get the door open then takes off across the porch barking after her.
They seem to run around the house like crazy about the same time every night. It's like that last little burst for the night.
