My dogs aren't fixed bc I use them for breeding; however, when they were about six months old I had to have some retained baby teeth pulled on each of them so they had to be put under. I was very nervous until they called and told me that the pups were fine. Also we have their teeth cleaned about every 9 mos and they knock them out for that, too. They always come back just fine.
Your baby will do just fine. I would talk to the vet before hand and see what else they can do to your dog while they have him out. Mine offers to clean teeth, clean sent gands and trim nails. I also would have him check for retained baby teeth.
