Buddy has been shaved down during the last two summers.
He grew back, not down to the floor of course, in about 2-3 months at which time he needed to be trimmed. I let him grow for 4mos and went in for a trim and again he was cut down but not shaved so were starting again to let it grow. Be patient because you have no choice. It will grow back.
