We had a couple here yesterday and the boys greeted them at the door like they always do. I saw the look on the woman's face and knew immediately she wasn't impressed with the boys so I picked them up and held them. After a few minutes she said it was o.k. to put them down, they wouldn't bother her, so I let them down. Well, she played and petted them, talked baby talk and gave them kisses. The boys had no idea she had a preconceived opinion about Yorkies. After a while she confessed that her first thought was 'oh great...yorkies ' and then went on to tell me her daughter and another woman she knew had Yorkies that were awful, they weren't friendly and were, in fact, mean and aggressive so they were passed off to new homes. She was quite impressed with the boys after a short time and confessed that they had changed her opinion about Yorkies. She had never seen a Yorkie as lovable and friendly as my boys. I was so proud of my furry little rats, fake dogs or whatever people prefer to call them...yesterday afternoon they were little ambassadors for their breed and they did their job well...maybe we, as owners, should try to do the same. |
I'm so glad your boys could win over the heart of a nonyorkielover
