If they say their children couldn't be around my dog - that's probably the truth. A lot of children can't be around such tiny little dogs. Or if they say, they'd be afraid to have such a tiny little dog or wouldn't want to have such a little dog --- nothing wrong with this. Some of these little guys are very tiny......

If they say your pup doesn't look like a dog - but looks more like a "stuffed toy." I just think "how true - how true." They are almost too cute to be real.

The remark, "Is that a real dog?" is one I feel like making myself at times. Honestly some of these little Yorkies are just too small and too cute to really be a dog.

If anyone would say my little dog looks like a little rat -- they should see him when he's wet - Then I tell him myself that he looks like a "drowned little rat." ---and he does --- but ooooooooooooh so cute! (I had a pet rat when I was young - and I loved that little guy - he was so cute and affectionate and playful..... so this term just doesn't bother me that much!) Beside I always take this remark as being more a "size thing" than an insult.

I think a lot of us take our little Yorkies out to show them off -- but we forget to leave the "little Yorkie chip on our shoulder" at home.

I'm always friendly with people who makes these sorts of remarks.....and, they generally come around and decide that I have a very cute little dog after all. This really is true almost all of the time. I know for sure -- if I acted offended or made some smart remark back to them -- they would think even less of the little dog I have. I don't want that.

And - very rarely, - if someone really doesn't like little Yorkies - or little dogs -so what!!!!! This just doesn't bother me at all! I have a girlfriend who doesn't like chocolate - go figure!

I couldn't have said it better myself! Except for the having a pet rat part...oh, and the part about not liking chocolate ...I just can't imagine that!

We had a couple here yesterday and the boys greeted them at the door like they always do. I saw the look on the woman's face and knew immediately she wasn't impressed with the boys so I picked them up and held them. After a few minutes she said it was o.k. to put them down, they wouldn't bother her, so I let them down. Well, she played and petted them, talked baby talk and gave them kisses. The boys had no idea she had a preconceived opinion about Yorkies. After a while she confessed that her first thought was 'oh great...yorkies ' and then went on to tell me her daughter and another woman she knew had Yorkies that were awful, they weren't friendly and were, in fact, mean and aggressive so they were passed off to new homes. She was quite impressed with the boys after a short time and confessed that they had changed her opinion about Yorkies. She had never seen a Yorkie as lovable and friendly as my boys. I was so proud of my furry little rats, fake dogs or whatever people prefer to call them...yesterday afternoon they were little ambassadors for their breed and they did their job well...maybe we, as owners, should try to do the same.
