Maizee was about the same size your baby is when I brought her home. She had a little problem eating as well and just wanted to sleep all day. She was so lethargic! But, I fed her some soft food mixed with her dry and she seemed to like that okay. She started eating more, and in a couple of weeks was bouncing off the walls. Personally, I think 8 weeks (that's when I got Maizee) is way to young for a baby to leave his/her mother, especially when they are so teeny. Just give him extra care and love, which sounds like what you are doing, and he will be just fine
