We had to hand feed Tatum (and try tricks like rolling it on the floor for her to chase!) when she was new to us but it didn't take long for her to start eating on her own. I think the trick is to just stop doing it and he WILL eat when he gets hungry and realizes that you aren't going to coddle him. Very hard to do, I know, but he's got you trained right now and you need to show him the other way around! Good luck!
