I am glad that you said "6 months" because it may take that long. But when you get discouraged and want to quit, just remember: The effort you put in it NOW will be oh so worth it in the future, to have a well trained dog so all you have to do is love and play with him for the rest of his years. Because 6 months out of 13-15 years is just a blink of an eye in the whole scheme of things. Your relationship with him will be more enjoyable and stress free. (Not to mention your relationship with your mother!)
