My boyfriend's mother does the same thing with her yorkie, but you know what? When any of us keep her yorkie, we put the food down and when he gets hungry, he eats. I think he knows that we're not going to hand feed him and he doesn't even try it. If your furbaby won't eat and you want to wait him out, you could smear some some nutri-cal on his tongue to make sure his sugar doesn't drop too low and maybe put some corn syrup in his water. Just so you don't worry so much.
