The Yorkshire Terrier Breed Standard states that they must be between 4-7 pounds to be shown in the ring. HOWEVER, there are MANY, MANY Yorkies that are lighter or heavier than the breed standard. I haven't weighed my Higgins for awhile, but he was right at 7 lbs and then dropped to 6.5 (?). He hasn't changed much in the last couple of months. We think he's just PERFECT. Could we be just a little biased???
