Default Wow, I didn't know that

Well this thread is about things you have learned that made you say "Wow, I didn't know that". Since we are all here to learn (no matter how many years we've owned or been breeding) I think we can all learn something new. Add to the thread by posting something like:

* Liver is extremely high in Vitamin A so it shoud be used very cautiously in pregnant dogs since high Vitamin A may be linked to cleft palates.

* Hydrogen peroxide (even diluted with 2 parts water) is old advice for cleaning abrasions and wounds. It destroys healthy tissue so it will only delay healing.

* A neutered dog can become tied with a female in heat (no pregnancy will occur though).
