I don't know of anything to tell you, but I wanted to say I hope they are okay and bump this up for you, maybe someone else has some ideas?
I would think trying to chew a hook would hurt thier mouths and they wouldn't swallow it, but then you never know with these fur babies! Good luck and let us know how they are doing.
