All in all you should plan that someday you will will have full care of the dogs. Once you move on your new "friend" may not be so happy about a x coming around since you say she will be coming to you. Then think even further down the road if you say Marry how will your wife like this hmm or what if she marries first you know this is sticky.
My parents never remarried but he did care for the dog (he did take the dog to the vet and gave him baths and took him to be groomed)and I always thought it was an excuse to still see my mom, and so did she.
Anyhow I don't think it will last long, and when someone new comes into the picture it will be sticky on both ends. I wouldn't like my hubby having contact with a x even though he would claim it was for the love of a dog. But that is just me. |
