I'm glad he is latching on that will improve his chances tremendously. No cleft in the palate I'm assuming so that's another point in his favor. Good heartbeat so it's not an underlying heart defect that is causing the accumulation of fluid in his lungs so one more point in his favor. Only time will tell, but I'm glad it seems like the odds are at least tipped in his favor.

I guess the Dopram wouldn't help his situation? Did she say that swinging would be of any benefit at all at this point? I do know it's done immediately after birth, but I don't see how anything physically has changed in the pup to prevent it from working at this age.

Also since he was put on an antibiotic get some Benebac - its a gel sold in most pet stores and is about $6.00 for three little tubes. Antibiotics kill bad bacteria, but they also destroy the good bacteria right along with it so the addition of good bacteria (also found in yogurt, but not as concentrated and adding yogurt to the formula and heating it kills all the good bacteria culture contained in it).
