Also, talk to the vet about giving Nutrical - the pancreas is responsible for making insulin which controls the level of sugar in our blood so if the pancreas is affected maybe it doesn't produce the insulin in the proper amounts so you shouldn't give sugar (of course, it could be that they may need more too). I don't know how the production of insulin is affected, if at all, but definitely something you will want to ask your vet.
