You could hve an autopsy done and let the breeder know so she doesn't continue to breed those two parents, but since Gia had other problems like the roach back and the hernias then she probably had already made that decision I hope.

You really can't do the bile liver test on a real young puppy because they cannot go that long without food because of the low blood sugar risk. There is also no way to PREVENT liver shunt or do DNA tests to see if your puppy will have it based on the parents. Perfectly fine parents with no genetic history of the condition can have it crop up in one of their pups. It is not something the breeder can protect against 100%

I was also sad to hear about Gia. She was such a sweet little thing. I guess God thought she would make a good angel.
