My guy stays in the kitchen/laundry room when I'm at work - but has no problems going in and out of this area when I'm home.

Sometimes I think dogs will drink more if we put water right in front of them --but if they have to go someplace to get it --they really just "aren't that thirsty."

My dog probably goes in and out of these rooms a lot - because I do when I'm home...

Unless he's peeing where he shouldn't - I'm not sure I would worry about this. And, I'm not sure it's "anxiety." These just may be areas he doesn't want to visit when he doesn't have to. There certainly are areas in my house that my dogs don't ever spend time in.
