I always trim Lucy's nails after her bath when they're soft, too. I leave her wrapped in a towel and take out one paw at a time to trim. She's used to it now and doesn't fight me at all. I trimmed them for the first time the day I got her. I used baby nail clippers because they were so tiny! Now I use the same clippers on Rebel.
