Alot will admit their yorkie isn't perfect as faras standards,so will many others.
I'm sure that there are decent pet stores out there. Just like there are good and bad breeders, and good and bad EVERYTHING. It's just that so many of them DO sell sick puppies. Even ONE store out there selling sick puppies is too many. Now that I've been through it, buying that sickly puppy from a pet store, I would never do it again. Yes, I love her to bits, and yes, I believe that we saved her. But all I can think about is what might have happened to her littermates, and her momma, etc.

The thing about saving these animals is that it only increases demand for them, and there's no way to save them all If there were stricter laws about where the puppies came from, how the dams are bred and how often, and sanitary conditions, THAT would help make sure that these people are following certain guidelines. It's a crappy situation all around, because these poor babies deserve to be loved and a lot of them never get the chance, because they die

I don't think that the OP meant anything to be directed toward anyone that bought from a pet store. Education is the key, and that's the intent that I read into it, and that's the way I took it. If buyers would do their homework on a place and where they get their animals ( I didn't , and I KNEW better! ), and then only buy from the ethical pet stores, the shifty ones WOULD be put out of business. Unfortunately, way too many of us see that adorable puppy and want to save it, and fall in love Most people don't know what to look for, or are blinded by the cuteness of these little creatures.

I'm so happy when I hear of folks that have a healthy puppy, no matter where it came from.
