My babies wear a breakaway cat collar at all times that have their tags on it. I feel safe knowing that they have tags if they ever run away, and also knowing that it will fall off if they get it caught on something. I got the breakaway collars from PetSmart in the Cat collar section.
However, I walk my babies on a harness...never do I attach a leash to their collar. There is just too much of a risk of a collapsing trachea to use a collar to go on walks. Always use a harness for walks. By babies still wear their collar when when they have their harness on for walks.
