i've been reading and reading the forums and am going cross eyed, i have some questions about my fur baby. I have a little girl yorkie named Mocha, she is almost four months old and weighs two pounds.
potty training
is there an average age for a yorkie to be house trained? one day it seems like she understands the concept the next day she is peeing anywhere she wants. she does make it through the night without any accidents. i take her outside every couple hours during the day and have two pee pads in the kitchen. my husband says i'm too soft on her and need to scold her when i catch her instead of quietly cleaning up her messes. i know she's young but want to make sure i'm training right and not confusing her.
home alone -
how old was your yorkie once you started leaving them home alone? the only time i don't take Mocha with me is for grocery shopping and to work. two days a week i work seven hours, so my parents puppy sit Mocha for me. i plan to have her fixed at six months if our vet says it's alright and thought after she is all healed i might try leaving her home alone those two days.
grooming -
how do you get them use to the clippers and teach them to stay still? she is great for her bath and for brushing, but try to do her nails or trim her hair and i need more hands. i guess i'm just afraid i'll hurt her, i'm not use to such a tiny pup. our other dog is a sheltie and i just didn't have these issues with her.
i think i need more training than Mocha
