I don't know about FCI but I also had Bell phone and simpatico. I swiched to the internet phone and don't have any problems at all. And the intercom works, too.
I have rogers cable and of course if the cable is down, the phone won't work.
I used to pay over $40 with Bell and now I pay $19.99 and have long distance calls included.
