Seems Like It - But Really Not I know it seems like it. I think it just frustrates people that so much mis-information is out there. Every time I take my boys out people ask "Is he a miniature Yorkie?" My husband rolls his eyes because he knows I'm about to give someone the correct information. My boys are 9 months and 7 months and they are about 5 pound each.
People then start talking about wanting to get one and they don't know ANYTHING about purchasing a purebred puppy much less any kind of dog.
I think with the Yorkie breed there is so much money making going on and there are so many cruel people out there using them just to make money. And there are so many uneducated people spending tons of money on poorly bred Yorkies. There are some that were recently on sale in a pet store near me for $2000 a piece. They were about ten weeks old and already to large for breed standard...there coats were poor and there ears were not trained to stand. I can tell you that someone paid the money for those dogs and will be disappointed with what they bought then they'll find some excuse to get rid of it and it will end up on petfinders.com because it turned out ugly.
So take the meanness with a grain of salt...I think people on here have good intentions which is the most important thing. |
