but i guess happy holidays is supposed to be a generic cover for any & all people .that just seems so impersonal and well generic!
as for a woman making a scene with a salvation army guy doesn't she have better things to do than show a child what a fool people can be! how rude she should've been smacked on site!! |
I will use Happy Holidays if it is at the beginning of the holiday season (before Thanksgiving) if I am not going to be seeing the person until after the holidays...and if I know someone that is a religion that doesn't celebrate Christmas (as I do) then I will say Happy Holidays...Several years ago I worked in a department store...it was Christmas time....a little boy and his Mom came through my register,.....I asked him..."Who's coming soon?" the little boy looked at me like I had 3 heads!! that's when the Mom told me that they don't celebrate Christmas...I apologized and she said there was no reason to apologize...there was no yelling, screaming or making a scene..and that was the end of it....
